Chacma Bush Camp offers the perfect big five safari experience in 8000 hectares of undulating landscapes dotted with rocky outcrops. Located in the uncrowded Maseke Game Reserve (a management area of the Balule Private Nature Reserve), this family-friendly Kruger safari camp is the ideal hideaway for safari-goers looking for a more intimate Kruger safari. The camp sleeps a total of 10 people in three chalets, and thus offers an authentic and personalised safari experience.
The Olifants River coursing through the region, together with the abundant caves and outcrops, provides a diverse landscape for game drives. Guests will explore this unique section of the Kruger on expertly guided game drives, which takes place twice daily.
The camp’s perimeter is hugged by Mopane woodlands—a major drawcard for a wealth of wildlife. Bushbuck, kudu and plains game are commonly spotted in these woodlands, and can be viewed from the comfort of the deck area surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. Chacma’s main highlight is its small waterhole in front of camp, which is frequented by elephants during the drier winter months.
Chacma Bush Camp is located in the Maseke Balule Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger, and has 8000 hectares of traverse. The area is situated between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa in Limpopo Province. Prominent mountainous ridges and boulder koppies characterise the terrain, making it an interesting region to explore on drive.
The camp is easily accessible for fly-ins and self-drivers. There are a few ways of getting to Chacma. Guests who choose to self-drive will be met at the gate and escorted to park their cars at camp. Those that fly-in will need to fly into Hoedspruit (Eastgate Airport) or Phalaborwa Airport. Guests catching the scheduled transfers from OR Tambo will need to be dropped off/picked up at Three Bridges Restaurant.
