Overview

Kichaka Lodge is a five-star destination, constructed of natural stone and thatch, which seamlessly blends into the surrounding landscape. The lodge was extensively rebuilt and furnished in 2020. The décor of Kichaka is a modern uptake of traditional safari elegance and colonial style, with the ambiance experienced as one of comfortable elegance.

There is a sociable cocktail bar and sitting area, opening up onto a viewing deck. A well-appointed stately dining room along with outdoor dining on the large main deck. Fireside dinners are held in the comfort of an atmospheric boma, weather permitting on clear evenings.
The upstairs library area is private and spacious, providing comfortable seating to indulge in and various cozy corners to relax with a book or just to sit and reminisce.

A rim-flow swimming pool is set on the edge of the main deck, so the water in the pool blurs seamlessly with the waterhole. The well-designed spa, set above the waterhole, boasts floor-to-ceiling, panoramic windows – enabling guests to view the nearby ‘hippo hollow’ in absolute privacy. Kichaka Lodge also boasts a well-equipped gym.

The 10 suites are decorated in the same luxurious style as the main lodge and the finest fittings in the bathrooms are an indulgence, with enormous baths, and rain shower heads with his and her basins. Each suite has a private deck with a heated plunge pool and an outside shower. The suites have been perfectly positioned to ensure and maximize the sense of being enveloped in the bush.

Conservation Levy

R150 per adult per night. Nett and non-commissionable. This contribution is collected by Lalibela on bahalf of the Lalibela Foundation. 100% of funds go towards funding various conservation and community upliftment projects.

Terms & Conditions

FIT (excluding Peak Season) - No deposit required. Full pre-payment no less than 30 days before arrival with: - 50% cancellation charge if cancellation occurs between 15 and 30 days before arrival; and - 80% cancellation charge if cancellation occurs 14 days or less prior to arrival - No cancellation charges will be levied in the case of a force majeure event (bookings that have been prepaid, will be refunded)
Group Bookings (14 pax or more) require a 10% refundable deposit to secure the reservation with the balance required 60 days before arrival: - 50% cancellation charge if cancellation occurs between 15 and 60 days prior to arrival; and - 80% cancellation charge if cancellation occurs 14 days or less prior to arrival - No cancellation charges will be levied in the case of a force majeure event (bookings that have been prepaid, will be refunded)
Peak Season FIT & Groups - 20 December to 10 January: - We reserve the right to request full prepayment for Peak Season bookings no less than 60 days before arrival. - We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions during this rate period. - We reserve the right to move guests between lodges should circumstances require this.
