Overview
Africa on Foot is an intimate hideaway situated in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in the GreaterĀ Kruger. Famed for its guided walking safaris and informative game drives, Africa on Foot is a major drawcard for safari-goers seeking an unforgettable safari adventure in an exclusive Big 5 destination.
Guests can expect a convivial atmosphere in a comfortable camp boasting all the creature comforts from home. Camp life is simple and easygoing, where the focus is on connecting with others in wild spaces and indulging in a relaxed tempo of life. On site, there is a quaint bar that flows through to a shared dining area, and an outdoor boma section. On balmy summer days, guests can relax at their choice of two splash pools, each furnished with decking and sun loungers.
Sprawled across the camp there are 5 chalets built from brick and thatch, each furnished with rustic decor and simple colour accents inspired by the surrounding bushveld. Rooms have mosquito nets, showers, and standing fans. For the more adventurous, there is a treehouse which can be booked at an extra cost.
Morning bush walks and evening game drives take place on the 13 000-hectare traverse, both led by professional guides and trackers. Game drives take place in lieu of walks if the weather is unpredictable; ensuring that there are always two activities per day.
Africa on Foot is located in the Greater Kruger in theĀ Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. The camp enjoys 13 000-hectares of traversing rights across varied terrain in a sought after area just outside of Hoedspruit.
The Klaserie is a Big 5 reserve that shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and other world-renown private reserves, which include: Thornybush Game Reserve, Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, and the Balule Nature Reserve. There is free movement of predators and big game throughout these reserves.
Africa on Foot is about an hour’s drive from the town of Hoedspruit, which is the supply capital of the Greater Kruger. Hoedspruit/Eastgate airport is the local airport for the camps in the Klaserie, which is about a 40 minute drive from camp.
Guests fly to Hoedspruit/Eastgate airport from Johannesburg, Cape Town or Durban, and are met by their host fromĀ Africa on FootĀ and driven the last distance to camp. This last leg is a drive through a big 5 area, so keep your eyes peeled for early game-viewing.
